About Us/Mission Statement >>
The DPOCC is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), charitable organization that was established in 1992.
Its purpose is to assist law enforfcement officers, who retired as a result of a
disabling injury, adjust to, and cope with, the many difficulties associated with
an untimely and unplanned ending to their careers and chosen way of life.
Feelings of Loss, Separation Anxiety, Depression, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
are often experienced. These conditions, along with more generalized frustrations
and anxieties require a support system and understanding from the law enforcement
family they once belonged to, and the general public, which they dedicated their
lives to in service.
The DPOCC is just such an organization and its' services and programs are available
to any disabled and/or optionally retired law enforcement officer, free of charge.
Because of numerous requests, the DPOCC has made its services available to active
polive officers and members of their families. It is the DPOCC's Missiom, that through
its Counseling services and other programs, the quality of life for this group
of public servants, will be greatly enhanced.
