Understanding 

From the many clients we have seen at the Centers or talked with on the phone, we have learned that the problems experienced by the disabled retired officers are also experienced by those retired optionally.  What many seem to have in common, are the feelings of loss, separation anxiety, and depression.  This group of individuals, who in their careers sacrificed so much for the good of their departments and the communities they served, are now feeling abandoned and forgotten.  We all need to let them know this is not the case, and we'll be forever grateful for their sacrifice.
